Mission Statement

Can Still Shine Program” is a safe supportive haven for women and children from all walks of life, with no exceptions.   We provide our clients the opportunity to choose safety, anonymity and protection over victimization, domestic violence, and drug abuse.   The “I Can Still Shine Program” offers a fresh start to women and children.

"For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you, to give you a hope, and a future."     Jerimiah 29:11

We are proud to be a faith-based program where women and children find hope to start over. The key to success is hope and healing.  When women leave a violent home, they don’t know how they will survive. They’ve been told they can’t make it on their own. We show them how they can.

The I Can Still Shine Program is a faith-based agency founded to fight domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and hopelessness on all levels.

Our biggest need
right now is Emergency Care Services. We are providing help for our clients so they can relocate and start over. We provide rent, deposits, car repairs, medical, eye glasses, food, gas cards, counseling and other items for our client after the leave abusive home or drug rehab program.  Your support helps many families achieve a new, abuse-free life.

This year is our 18th Anniversary!

We are so excited to announce that June 1, 2013 we will celebrate 18 years of   helping women and children start over!

We could not do this work, without God's grace, and our amazing partners and volunteers!

In 1995 Brenda Jackson started her first Battered Women’s Agency in Fort Worth.  Then in 2011 joined by an amazing group of friends, she started I Can Still Shine Program to reach more families.

I Can Still Shine Program, now helps women and children from all walks of life from; domestic violence, drug and alcohol recovery, prison recovery, and those who are homeless.

We have an amazing board and staff. Our current staff has over 30 years of experience in the domestic violence and recovery fields.  Our goal is that all our clients become self-supporting members of society.

We provide long-term up to two years of assistance to those attempting to break the cycle of abuse, and drug and alcohol abuse.  When they win, we all win!

Together we can show them God loves them and give them hope.  We all need hope!

We could not do this without you!  We are honored to serve God, with the help of our volunteers and partners.  Because of you we can show our families they can make it!

Thank you for helping us change lives!

Why Are We Here?

Did you know?

Up to fifty percent of all hmeless women and children in this country are fleeing domestic violence.
Domestic violence program leaders in Texas face a unique challenge:

How does the second-largest state properly accommodate for the rising need for services? In 2009, Texas provided assistance to 79,367 adult and children survivors of family violence and yet there was still an increase in demand for help.   We need your help!   You may also want to visit:  www.tcfv.org (Texas Council of Family Violence).
