2020 RECAP -- What a Wonderful Year!
We had a great year at I Can Still Shine. Our best days are yet to come.
The program achieved great accomplishments, which will be shared in our newsletter. A few are listed below:
We took over 2,100 emergency calls for help
We sent 21 students to college
We blessed 300+ kids with Christmas Gifts, thanks to our amazing donors. Even local churches called us and asked for help, so we helped them with all their kids too.
We helped over 300 people a month food. (Note: We always need more food.) We get a lot of
walk-in, one-time clients. We help everyone one time and also give referrals to other agencies if they need services outside of the scope of ICSS.
We paid rent, electric, gas, and phone bills for over 100 mothers and children.
We gave out over 80 gas cards.
We added 2 more part-time employees

Who We Are
ICSS is a visionary agency that was made a reality in 2011 by Brenda Jackson and our Board of Directors. The program was built to help battered women in Fort Worth (and the whole DFW area) along with their children. Prior to 2011, Brenda Jackson directed another battered women's program in Fort Worth for over 15 years.
We are so proud to have served the DFW area to help those in need. We are a faith-based program. We help women and children leave abusive homes and assist those coming from drug and alcohol programs. Our goal is to help over 600 women and children each year and give them hope to start over. Since 1995 we have been able to help thousands of women and children escape from violent situations. We are grateful to God for His love and support for our work.
When women leave a violent home, they don’t know how they will survive. Their abusers often convince them that they can’t make it on their own. We show them how they can!
We were all born to be a blessing. Why not help us bless somebody today?
Services
As of 2020, we celebrate 26 years of helping battered women in Ft. Worth, Texas, and the surrounding areas. We have now reached out to thousands of women and children. We are not an overnight shelter, but will be happy to refer you to one. We could not have done any of this ministry without God's grace and the support of our wonderful partners, many who have supported our work for years. Thank you!
Client intake is by appointment only, Monday - Friday 1-4 pm. Please call one day ahead to schedule an appointment at 817.616.3500.

Mission Statement
The "I Can Still Shine Program” is a faith-based, safe, supportive center for women and children from all walks of life, with no exceptions. We provide our clients the opportunity to choose safety over domestic violence and drug abuse. We offer a new start to our women and children.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "Plans to prosper you, and give you a hope and a future."
